Apr 7,2000 :State Delegation Calcutta A State Delegation visited Calcutta on April 4 & 5 to attend a function organized at Raj Bhawan to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the constitution of Rajasthan State. Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister for Information & Public Relations led the delegation. Other members of the delegation were Dr. K.C. Chaudhary, MLA, Beawar and Shri Purshottam Agarwal, OSD, IRC-2000. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the International Rajasthani Conclave would be held at Jaipur on September 23 & 24, 2000. He also said that the objective of the conclave is to recognize persons of Rajasthani Origin who excelled or made outstanding contribution any filed. He clarified that the Conclave is not meant for promotion of investment in Rajasthan. The Minister agreed to improve the quality of services provided by the Rajasthan Information Center at Calcutta. He said that the Center will be connected to the Internet and will be strengthened in every way possible- man power, technology, literature, etc. The Minister also said that steps would be taken to provide a permanent mechanism in Rajasthan to facilitate issues of Non-resident Rajasthanis. H.E.J. Viren Shah, Governor of West Bengal, launched a book titled "Bhamashah Smriti Granth" on the occasion. |
